My aim is to produce beautifully handcrafted candles with thoughtfully blended scents that are synonymous with Hackney.
The first candle launched in 2018 was Columbia Road, I wanted to make a candle that would emulate the beautiful aroma of the infamous Columbia Road Flower Market that takes place in East London on Sundays. I spent a few weeks playing around with scent combinations and eventually settled with tuberose, peony and a hint of fresh english rose. I followed this candle with Freehouse, the inspiration for this candle is taken from the vast and varying drinking establishments around Hackney, it is a much more manly, powerful scent with notes of honeysuckle and rosewood. The third candle came in the spring and is inspired by the swaths of green at Hackney Marshes. The scent is fresh and green with a perfect blend of cypress, water lily and peony. This year we end with Farmers Market an earthy, garden fresh scent full of tomato vine and lemon rind.
Each candle pot is hand made 30 minutes outside of London and every candle is designed, formulated, stamped, hand poured and packed by me, from my kitchen in Bethnal Green.
There is a lot more to come from my little kitchen but for the moment I hope you enjoy your candle and the story behind it.
Thank you for your time.
Peace and Love
